Application Process

1. Ask a teacher, boss, leader, etc. to complete the reference form and mail it directly to CYBA.
2. Complete the application form.
3. Prepare a 500 words or less essay as your personal statement.
4. Obtain a copy of your official high school transcript to verify GPA.

About CYBA Scholarship Fund

The CYBA College scholarship fund will award three non-renewable scholarships annually; the Rhonda Schachtel Academic Achievement Scholarship, the Gretchen Jaeger Citizenship Scholarship, and the Ken Glass Scholarship. . Recipients must be enrolling in an accredited two or four-year college or university in the fall of the year the scholarship is awarded. The award will be payable directly to the college or university to be used for tuition. This scholarship is not based on financial need. Relatives of the CYBA Selection Committee are not eligible.

Criteria for Selection

The applicant must have played on a CYBA team or volunteered time to the CYBA organization for at least two seasons. Minimum high school grade point average of 3.0 is required. The applicant must have also demonstrated school, community, or religious involvement.

The applicant must submit along with the completed application, a personal statement essay of 500 words or less, and copy of the official high school transcript to verify GPA. You also need a reference from a teacher, boss, leader, etc.; they should complete the reference form and mail it directly to CYBA.

Personal Statement Guidelines

• Introduce yourself including hobbies and interests.
• State your career goals.
• Explain how your participation in CYBA has helped you.
• Describe what your involvement in extra curricular activities has meant to you.
• State why you feel you should be chosen for this scholarship.
• Limit the essay to about 500 words.
• Type on a standard letter sized paper.
